    That's a medical necessity.
I certainly wouldn't say that their Non-Tomato sauce based Pizza wasn't a Pizza.

But just between you and me?

I'm not a big fan of white sauces on Pizza or "Gourmet" sauces that aren't Tomato based.

This has been an interesting thread, if only because it has illuminated the rather passionate feelings and opinions people seem to have about Pizza.

I think my worst one was at a local independent place. The owner loved smoked oysters so he offered them on his pizzas. I love them too but that "creation" was a real abomination.

That pizza joint has been out of business for about 20 years now....

I can enjoy a white pizza, specially white clams, but not one that uses BBQ sauce.

My wife does the white sauce pizza because of her sensitivity to acids. I've tried it. It's OK, but not something I'd ever ask for. In fact, she makes two -- one for her and one for me every Saturday night for our "pizza and a movie" date at home. We are seriously cheap!! :D

    I agree wholeheartedly.

However, I'll make an exception for a splash of hoi sin. A good Peking Duck pizza can be a fine thing.

There was a place near where we lived in Shanghai that did a white pizza that was lovely. There wasn't a white sauce - just a bit of cheese and butter and garlic, and on top of that uncooked prosciutto and aragula and cherry tomatoes. It was excellent.

It is a highly-divisive issue. I'd draw a diagram of who likes what, but it would look kind of like this.

And that would just make everyone think of pizza.

Am I right in thinking that Little Caesar's is kind of dominosy?

    Our Domino's has gotten better.
Little Caesar's went away from this region, and only just got back maybe a year ago. It's below Dominos, and what I remember of Pizza Hut, but cheap. Bad pizza, cheap can still be good.

Ah, OK. I've seen one in the far Western suburbs of Sydney, but I haven't tried it. It didn't smell amazing.

Although nothing smells quite as foul as Subway, in my view.

RIGHT. IT IS TIME TO TAKE THIS THREAD BACK TO THE WONDERFUL OP'S ORIGINAL KEY ISSUE! THIS MUST BE DONE IN THE LIGHT OF BREAKING NEWS.

Yes, that's right. We need to reexamine the whole World Leader / Pizza Topping nexus.

In the light of recent horrific news, this subject cannot be ignored.

    No, really, I mean it.

Here is the recent horrific news. This came out today in The Guardian.

Tinned spaghetti pizza: New Zealand's prime minister shocks with 'monstrous' recipe | World news | The Guardian

    AAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH

If a prime minister wants to truly unite a nation – one way not to do it is to cook a pizza with spaghetti topping.

This seems to be the lesson that New Zealand’s leader, Bill English, can take away after he dabbled in the kitchen and sprinkled his result on social media this week.

On Tuesday night English cooked dinner for his family – a 1980s rural Kiwi classic: tinned spaghetti and pineapple pizza. Later, he posted a series of photos of his home-spun efforts on Facebook.

    Yes, this is a thing.

From this, I think we can conclude the following:

    • Iceland is better than New Zealand.
    • Bill English is THE WORST NATIONAL LEADER IN THE WORLD. There are many strong contenders for this title at the moment, none of whom I will mention in this thread lest it be moved to FHoPol. But surely, nuclear tests, travel bans, invasions of neighbouring countries, having a fight with Matthew Perry off of Friends, leaving a massive trading bloc, letting your psychic take bribes from large corporations, having a daughter who has mysteriously become the richest woman in Africa, and other such Presidential and Prime Ministerial atrocities pale in comparison with this.
    • Australia must immediately end freedom of movement and the single-market agreement between Australia and New Zealand. I'm not racist, but we have to get rid of all Kiwis in case they do something similar here. We could create a new single-market and freedom-of-movement agreement with Iceland, which can be trusted to use our pineapples, tomatoes and wheat in an appropriate manner.
    • Australia and New Zealand constantly argue about which country invented such delights as the lamington and the pavlova. Also, we blame each other for Russell Crowe. These arguments must now be put aside. All that history will remember is that New Zealand's Prime Minister made a tinned spaghetti and pineapple pizza.
    • Where are the New Zealanders condemning this atrocity? If they do not condemn it, they are all complicit*.

This is terrible. I know someone - a friend of a friend who I meet occasionally and always enjoyed having a chat with - who is a former Prime Minister of New Zealand. [Thanks to Flight Of The Concords, I do struggle not to call her Brian.] I don't know if I can ever speak to her again in the light of this appalling action by one of her successors.

    * Yes, I know there are lots of New Zealanders condemning this atrocity, in the very article I've linked to. But that's not how these things work. I'm not a racist, but I am going to tar all New Zealanders with the same brush.

Well, that saved a me a ton of money. Just scratched New Zealand off my bucket list. Such a pretty place, too.

Some places offer stuffed pizzas. The one I've had is a layer of cheese steak filling, a top crust, and then the typical sauce and cheese. Zita is another popular choice for a stuffed pie. So spaghetti as a topping isn't that far off. Out of a can though:sick: I don't remember being fond of Spaghetti-os even as a kid.

I think it's time for pizza here too.

    Remember - NOT ALL PIZZAS.

You should not think all pizzas are bad, just because of a few extremist pizzas that are determined to destroy everything.
