I saw my first ever Prime yesterday on the way to work. Briefly. It made a left turn off Tarpon to go north on Eastlake as I was in the southbound Eastlake left turn lane in the Tampa area. (WOW! That was a lot of directions. ) I wonder if they bought it locally. I almost tried to do a u-turn to chase them down and find out.

 

Toyota just reported an 11% drop in sales for the last quarter. Prius sales were down 16%. Camry was like 20 some % down. I'm sure Spring will pick up in sales. If they could roll out the Prime better it might help the bottom line.

 

After our president strikes a deal with the Russian and Saudi, the oil price will go up and up and up. By then it is Prime time.

 

Sanctions against Iran will raise oil prices as well.

 

Down from last quarter or down from same quarter last year? I agree that it should come up. I suspect they would sell a lot more Primes if they would make more of them. If I was the type to buy new cars, I'd have one in a heartbeat.

 

Actual cars are down in general because people are buying crossovers and SUVs again. The Rav4 hybrid will get a bigger boost than the Prius/Prime from higher gas prices.

Tesla does not break out US only sales. And in fact they delivered over 25,000 EV for the first 3 months of 2017.

I hope the Prime does great, but let's skip the Tesla FUD.

Tesla is overrated IMO. Overtime these cars will start to have problem, this is why CR is now flip flopping on their rating for Tesla.
