Um ... yikes. I don't know anything about dealers in Ghana. Are there many Prius c's there? Enough to have them in salvage yards? The new price at a dealer is fairly steep (at least in the US); salvage pricing may be more attractive.

Renee what was the resulting communication back to you for the complaint you filed. I may want to do the same thing as my 2005 with 244K on it has been making the noise associated with the Actuator Failure. NO lights yet just the noise of the pump running on and off al the time until I turn the vehicle off and the computer goes to sleep then the noise stops.

Guess what toyota is asking for a part number that they want to sell a high price, but I discover that I can see the part number just by locating the actuator and you can find it anywhere for around 200 dollars

Guess what? Toyota is selling you a NEW part. Your $200 part is a second-hand part. It may work, or it may be just as broken as the one you are trying to fix.

    Horses for courses.

    I bought a second-hand actuator. After a day's work, everything was normal,

Is yours making the buzzing (constant beep) yet ?

that’s the sign for stop driving. I’ve dealt with a ton of these.

Once the buzzer starts (or cud be even before) the brakes will give out. In other words they will cease to function (randomly usually)

so you will be cruising and hit the brakes and it will make usually no effort and then you get a hard thud usually. And if ur lucky it might stop just enuff. But driving u will be guaranteed to be in an accident.

They should set a 150,000 guaranty on this part, not a date- because not everyone drives as many miles as others. If they know it id faulty- if it happens before 150,000 miles it is their defective part, it would seem. It would be different if this problem were not so common. I would love to know the statistic of how many have gone bad prior to 150,000 miles. Toyota is hurting themselves with reports like this...

This probably will fail with every car eventually. Toyota was kind enough to extend the warranty on it, other companies usually don't offer this type of service.
