    I wrote a story in school and the teacher asked if I read 'metamorphosis' but I didn't at the time. I read it soon after. My story was about being a fish and living in the neighbors pool.

    I need a refresher on real history before watching 'Oppenheimer."

    Wait time: About 10 weeks

    Um....maybe I'll watch the movie first.

    agreed, he is entertaining, and i like to think i'm somewhat like him. but todays women are not much like mrs. bennet, so it can be difficult to emulate him in every way. for instance, i have no shot at privacy in my library :cool:

    i did love the scene where elizabeth turns down her cousin mr. collins matrimonial request. mrs. bennet goes to mr. bennet to ask him to change elizabeths mind, and he says,'elizabeth, if you don't marry mr. collins your mother will never speak to you again. and if you do marry mr. collins, i will never speak to you again.'

    Just finished the luminaries. 830 pages, don’t bother.
    Starting guns, germs and steel. Heard about it years ago. Looks interesting, but a tome.
    I’ll wade in and see how it goes
