i'm sure lowering would help. they also added more aero underneath, i believe.

Sorry to say that what I've learned is that I'm not going to buy a Gen IV Prius

Alright after one page of chit chat, legitimately? Only a little since the advancements are in the engine and hybrid system (like redesigning the piston and intake to increase the tumble ratio of the air/fuel mixture)

    • Slightly lower the car for aerodynamics (the Gen 4 is 0.3" lower IIRC)
    • There are vortex generators near the base of the A-pillars where the mirrors are mounted to increase stability
    • There are fins on the taillight lens for aerodynamic flow (you'll need to figure out where to put them on the Gen 3 to improve air flow rather than make it worse)
    • Use wheel covers with fewer holes
    • Remove the rear wiper
    • (we already knew this one) Use foam pipe insulator to keep the engine warm in the winter.

great post - thanks! Replace or remove the top antenna altogether? I think antennas are only for AM stations correct? though, come on that has to have like zero effect on MPG

It's up to you lol. It's for AM/FM and there's also a satellite radio antenna in the base.

Some have replaced it with a sharkfin antenna for the look. It does reduce AM/FM reception strength a bit.

    my b :)

I think I read somewhere that the five with a performance package is lowered 1.1" in front and 1.3" in rear - can anyone confirm? may be a cheaper swap than aftermarket suspension I wonder if it's the shocks and springs or just springs - assuming just springs

that data is all in the original video's in the gen 4 stickies, but there's a lot of stuff there to look through trying to find it.
