Hi jack...yer math's off...what's the word for a band of 4.5?

5.5?

AND, if we are going to ban people for being offensive...how about banning the Confederate flag? To me and MANY others, it is just as offensive as a swastika. Throw someone out because of their words? How about their pictures?

You make me laugh. Your post could have the words "left wing" and "liberal" replaced with "right wing" and "neo-conservative" and it would be equally true.

The official reasons for the war changed many times too. Where's Winston Smith when you need him?

Umm... maybe you should have a look in a history textbook. We had pretty much won the war BEFORE we dropped the bomb(s). We weren't desperate - not even close. We had firebombed most of Japan's major cities. They never managed to hit a single non-military American target. The bombs were dropped for two reasons: to end the war with fewer American casualties than an invasion (which was planned), and to see what would happen. There is some debate about the justification of the bombs, but there is no debate on the what the eventual outcome of the war would have been. Your claim that "we'd be speaking Japanese" is ridiculous.

My eyes are now wide open after a little espresso - so name ONE constitutional right you are now missing that you had previously.

You might be curious to note that NoKo and Iran are sharing technology including the original sources for it so there is probably not that 5-10 year hiatus between them technologically speaking. And I am sure that from my other post concerning the COMPLETE LACK OF ACCURACY since day one of the nuclear age of American intelligence agencies being able to predict a countries entry into the nuclear club we shoud INTELLIGENTLY opt for safety and security and if we err, err on the side of caution instead of allowing iran to join the club - would that not be acting intelligently?

And obviously we should continue investing in Star Wars technology - that expenditure of money (MORE THAN WE HAVE SPENT IN IRAQ) would have been unnecessary if we had been more PROACTIVE and INTELLIGENT about letting the nuclear genie out of the bottle during the clinton years. But thank God Reagan had the intelligence to know that lots of others would not.

Leadership comes in all forms - and the runt sometimes carries a gun or its equivalent. It is usually not the size of your opponent - it is his armaments that define the seriousness of his threat or potential threat to you. You can even be blind if you are carrying a big enough bang - i used to laugh at how we comforted ourselves during the cold war by saying the Russian missiles accuracy was +/- a mile or two -- not that it mattered when it was a 1 or 5 megaton warhead that was going to explode :)

Have a nice day - enjoy the security and safety provided you by our brave men and women in harms way today - say a prayer for them and wish them like we all do Gods protection.

Ok. Explain to us how using military force, like the Iraq invasion, you would have prevented 9/11. Remember this attack was done by a bunch of guys, mostly from Saudi Arabia, a "friendly" country.

I think this is totally inappropriate, in extremely poor taste, and constitutes a personal attack. If and when it's removed for offensive content, I will remove this quote of it.

Well, its just inline with the kind of character we are dealing with.

Pinto girl said it best in another thread:

"Rampant dishonesty, xenophobia, and pseudo-religious moralism"

I would add artificial self-righteousness.

Terrorism is not a law enforcement issue. It requires combined forces including them, intelligence agencies both local and abroad, military assets (to strike them when they are found and located), research and development of technologies to combat their methods of destruction/attack, legislative to enable our culture to handle those that do not operate in our system and allows us to properly defend ourselves - to name a few assets that are required.

Ok. Explain to us how using military force, like the Iraq invasion, you would have prevented 9/11. The above is nothing like invading Iraq. We agree that is how it should be done. But invading Iraq is nothing like it.

I'm not talking about color...but character thats typical for certain races of people.
Many culture teach different values, precepts and principles than do we.

I wasn't there, but I talk to alot of older folks since I'm in the medical profession and I hear lots of stories from those who love to talk about it that were there.

We were intimidated and pissed and scared all at the same time... we knew we were against a formidable foe who would give thier lives to kill one ship.

Always be careful at calling another self righteous.

A little off subject, but self righteousness is the most deceitfull of all.
Those who have it cannot be corrected "becaue they don't need it".
They are in a position to judge or put down others to affirm thier own righteousness.
And they are usually eaten up with pride and full of themselves.

Oh lord I'm proud to be humble.......... kinda like that.

And yea, it takes one to know one.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Alric @ Sep 14 2006, 06:47 AM) </div>
It may not... but if you have ever heard the phrase in the good book that says:
"Smite a scorner and others will beware."

Try to get your enemy, if you miss, get his brothers in crime instead.... sometimes even more effective!

I am done here. When an objection to an image...NOT to a person...is characterized as a "personal attack," I know I'm finished finding this a source of entertainment and education.

Thank you Jack and Hyo and others who saw my point and supported me.

See ya all around.
