hey F8L, i'm running the motivo nitto tires on my PP wheels, and lately I've been noticing rattling sounds coming from the left window, and some creaking sounds here and there, will I get a more comfortable and smoother ride with the Michelin MxM4 tires ?

What pressure are you running? How cold has it been when you notice these rattles?

i'll have to check the tire pressure today, what's the ideal psi i should be running at ?

Also, the weather was around 10 degrees Celsius or below, when the weather was warm, I never noticed the sound with the windows rattling, and I keep my car outside, it's about 8-9 degrees Celsius now, and some mornings are 3 or below 0.

Does the cold cold weather have an affect on the wheels and the rattling sounds ?

I've started noticing squeaking noises for my TRD springs too, especially when I sit in the car, brake, releasing the parking brake, and stopping uphill or downhill.

    thanks

In colder temps the plastic parts in our cars rattle more often than in warmer temps. Low profile and/or harder tires can make this worse. When temps are 45F and lower, tires become less pliable (harder) and will ride rougher. Road surfaces also become less pliable. The whole thing leads to a rougher ride and rattles.

Check your air pressure and maybe try lowering it to factory specs to increase ride comfort. I doubt switching tires willcure the rattles 100% and I would suggest trying a few things with your current setup before you spend any money. :)

That's up to you. I would say no lower than 35 and no higher than 40. Please report back on what the pressure was and what it is later and if it helped reduce rattles. :)

I installed the lower grille block. Waiting for colder temps to do the upper. Highest coolant temp has been 195F at 70F ambient temperature. On average coolant temp is only 2-3 degrees hotter than without the grille block.

At what temp should I be thinking "oh crap i'm about to overheat"? I'd like to keep an eye on it when driving through the desert for vegas.

From my research I have read the radiator fan will kick on at 194 *F. Optimum coolant temp is 154-194 from that same source.
Based on that I would assume that in the desert heat you may hit 194, but as long as it doesnt continue to climb real high you should be fine!
    Hope this helps

And today I installed an OBDII bluetooth adapter and did a full grill block (cold here in NH). Havent seen any coolant temps above 145 in my short commute.

Installed the Tanabe under-brace today. Big thanks to Tracksyde for providing the torque specs for the install.

I jut removed two slats on lower grille blocking. I noticed while climbing uphill my temp was hitting 202F and would only drop to 198F. Once I got onto flat areas it stayed at 195F. It is 66F outside and dry. When I pulled out one of the foam pieces the air inside the bumper smelled like hot plastic? I'm keeping the grille only 50% blocked for now. I'll report back if more foam needs to be removed.

Good to know. Hills + full lower block +65* Temps = Bad

Anyone ever come to a conclusion about the inverter temps? Its 35 and below here and I've seen consistent 80-90* temps on both inverters. The inverter coolant has been in the low 80's but the individual inverter temps have spiked up to 122, and were at a consistent 100 for a while today. Thinking of removing the upper grill block.

Pulled the plastic hubcaps off my rims today and picked up from center caps from HD. What a difference! Wheels look 100% better now.

Where did you get those? I've been searching for the steering wheel emblem, but what I want most is the front and rear emblem with lime green instead of blue! Thinking I may have to get one custom made?
