    I got my transmission service, and engine oil done today at my local Toyota dealership. It took 1 hr, I got a courtesy car wash all for $150!

    Everything checked out great.

    All they do is drain the old oil from the transmission and replace it with fresh oil. No flushing is required on a Prius. When I called to make the appointment I was quoted $200 just for the transmission service, so I was pleasantly surprised by the final bill.

    Well, the dealership is located in Park Ridge, greater Chicago area.

    No I use a Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Its 3 years old, and still better than the latest Iphone or Samsung. It's amazing!

    Yes, synthetic motor oil is required for the Prius. It was like $35. The days of doing your own oil changes are over.

    When I had '66, '68, and '74 VW Beetles, I changed that oil by myself.

    Except that people have reported that the drain plug fell out and they lost all their oil within a short distance of the oil-change place.

    Something is off on that price. Are we taking about the good stuff, Toyota ATF WS or the generic stuff?

    Why are people not believing the price of the service at a Toyota dealership?
    It's a fair price for the work done.
    Why wouldn't Toyota NOT use the proper fluid for the transmission and engine oil???

    Not ALL dealerships are bad!

    Because dealers have been known not to use synthetic oil, but even if they didn’t it’s not gonna hurt anything just change the oil at 5k miles.
