    Hi folks,

I’m a grad student far from any Toyota dealership and need to diagnose my red triangle issue. I believe it’s something with the hybrid battery.

What’s the minimum setup I need that will read these codes?

I’ve tried searching threads and have found mixed opinions regarding which scanners will and won’t work. What’s the tries and true method here?

    Thanks in advance!

mini vci/tech stream, and a compatible laptop. cheap money, but requires decent computer savvy. lots of threads here.

Techstream is certainly the gold standard, but you might get serviceable results from other setups too, depending on your needs.
