Getting pulled through an automatic carwash (horrors!), or when being towed with the front wheels on the ground.

The shifter is great, BUT, I would prefer that R and D were reversed. To me, it is much more natural to move it in the intended direction of travel similar to aircraft control functions.

I agree (with reversing R and D), and maybe that's why I'm uncomfortable with the shifter. It's very similar in location and action to the throttle on Piper aircraft (Dakota/Archer/Arrow, etc).

Using the shifter gives me the same discomfort I feel when I switch to the Mooney M20C where the location of the flaps and landing gear switches are opposite from what I'm used to in other aircraft that I fly more often (not to mention the altimeter + VSI location swap). I've only got 2100 miles on my Prius, so maybe in a couple thousand more it'll become more automatic.
