Well there are plenty of uses. I do wish it was a little deeper (something like the Prius v would be nice) but it's better than nothing. The old Prius had a secret drawer . Yep but since when were official manufacturer accessories cheap?
Sort of. Sigma Automotive (.com) will import it for you. I've bought a 2nd Gen Prius footwell lighting kit from them and he used to be active on PriusChat. Check his site and see if he has it listed.
:welcome: Greetings and welcome! Don't worry about that mileage...it'll improve. Re: What do you use the front console space for? NOTHING! I hate cluttered cars!!
I got a tray that allows the space to become 2 extra cup holders and a tissue box holder. Very useful.
Feint, Would you provide more information about your tray; ie. where you got it, how the cupholders work, etc. Sounds like something I would like to try.
Honesty is the best policy-right? Miscellaneous junk which I try to make look like a cohesive collection. WELCOME!:welcome:
Interesting - I wonder if that would fit in a US-spec Prius IV? It looks like your tray is different (no aux power jack or heated seat switches on the front wall of the compartment)?
Work safety glasses, ink pens, stylus for the Nav touchscreen, dental floss thingys, a cross. It is nice having these items readily available without having to open something.
I still say, that the huge costco size, kleenex box fits great in there. You can sit it upright if you want, but we all know that when you need a tissue that you don't want to fumble to get it! I angle mine right to the driver side and it works out great. That's all that'll really fit there, though, because it's the supersize box lol. I jam my gloves into the drivers door cup holder spot. They fit nicely there.
In the center console box and in the glove boxes, make the first thing you put in a piece of foam, cut to fit the bottom. Stuff rattles in there. What goes in, obviously is stuff I don't want to carry and don't want people to see when they look in the windows -- camera, ham radio HT (I wonder if the ICOM 703 would fit vertically, hmm.), Garmin, etc. It's a shame that many sunglasses won't fit in the sunglasses holder (my clip-ons do fit), but you can toss them in the console. The chihuahua would almost fit. If he were properly tranquillized. Alternatively, if you live or park somewhere where break-and-snatch is a problem, you might consider borrowing a gila monster or sidewinder. Leave the foam out in that case, and it'll be easier to clean.
Thanks for the pics. Just one more question: Can a drink be removed from the cup holder w/o having to tilt it out?
where can you get the above tray? as for myself, currently i put my air freshener, small umbrella and a coin box.
I use that area for the charger for my Blackberry and a box of tissues. I love having the tissues there as there is really no other good place to put them.
The unlined glove boxes in the Prius are cost-cutting at its worst. They would disgrace a Korean car at half the price.
I am not too sure. I am guessing it would as the only difference is the switches for the heater / aux power jack which I am guessing just replacing that panel where my air freshener is. Dimensions are H42×W200×D315(mm) approximately. It depends on the size of the drink. From the package description, it is suppose to be for PET bottles. Not really for open drinks. I am guessing, you would use the other drink holder near the shifter for open top drinks? I got the tray from Autobacs here in Japan. I am unsure if you can get them in the US. If you need it, let me know. If there are enough of you, I can buy and have it shipped.
