Pretty sharp, alright. I wonder how it handles though. Next to the Spider, a Corvette handles like a box car.

I have an Audi A4 3.0. Even though its a 4 seater, I consider it a sports car-it drives like one. But now that I have my Prius, it sits in the garage.

You have no idea. When we bought the side mouldings for the Prius, we held them up the Corvette and they looked like they were made for it. In very bright sun, the Corvette sparkles more. The paint on the Corvette is also of much higher quality. It has less orange peel and feels "thicker". I swear hitting butterflies at highway speeds is enough to chip the paint on the Prius. It feels like it's only one molecule thick.

The C6 Corvette is hardly a box car, although in the old days that was somewhat the case. There aren't many production cars that you can purchase new for under $50K that will run the Nurburgring in under 8 minutes. And cruise at high highway speeds while getting 30 MPG. No, I'm extremely pleased with both of our ruby red high tech wonders. :)

$85k would be tight, but I'd have to go for an '06 BMW 650i Convertible.

If I had any money left, I'd get a '67-'68 Firebird Convertible as a project car.

Easy. '07 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500. "Only" 500hp. I'd get a black one with dark gray stripes.

I would need to learn to drive stick, but it'd be worth it if someone handed the car to me for free. Not so much fun if I had to shell out the $$ to pay for it myself though.

That's an interesting car. I was surprised that it relies exclusively on regenerative or electric braking and has no traditional friction brakes. Perhaps that's why the wheels are blocked in the photo - no transmission or parking brakes?

I want a Tesla. When I was a kid, I wondered what it would be like to shrink down and climb in one of my screaming slot cars. I figure a Tesla is the closest I'll get, and that's just fine.

I'm gonna stick to the C5 or C6 Corvette. if price was no object then the C6 Z06 or god willing a Tesla! I mean what else can bust out 30mpg, run 12s stock and handle like the C5s can? Toss in a couple less MPG and a ton more HP and you have the 11sec capable Z06. Efficiency, power and beauty.... I love em.

For what its worth the only car I've liked as much as my Prius was my 2000 C5 :)

28-30mpg freeway at 75mph average. 12.50@111mph 1.91 60' with just an air filter, Z06 mufflers+ hi flow cats and drag radial tires in a poor lil automatic.

1500 lb-ft at the wheels sounds impressive but it's really not that much. Using reasonable estimates, my Golf TDI will put 1590 lb-ft to the front wheels at idle in 1st gear (100 lb-ft clutch engagement * 3.75 1st ear * 4.25 final drive) but it's not doing 0-60 in 3 seconds.

With $85K, I could get some good power and handling out of the Golf and have plenty left over. If I was required to buy a car, it would probably be a Corvette Z06 or Porsche 911.

Mongo, what kind of wheels/tires are those (on the Prius, I mean)? They really look sharp.
