    Hey

I have had this Prius for a long time and I wanted to know what will fail next

Currently at 55K miles the Hybrid battery was replace free of charge from Toyota

The next major item was error code p1120 - Coolant control valve replacement which was done free by toyota

WHAT is the next major item I should check on my prius 2005. Now I am driving it everyday

Inverter coolant pump, 12v battery, check water pump, and serpentine belt. Change trans fluid and plugs @100k.

I'm sure others will chime in with more.

Given the complexity of any modern automobile I think trying to predict what will fail next an impossible task.
If your question is, what recommended maintenance would anyone suggest at 11 years old and 60,000 miles. That's a different question.

That's amazingly low miles for a vehicle that age.
But I see by your signature that you own two other vehicles including a newer Prius.

Since this is one of 3 vehicles, I'd just do a 60,000 mile recommended maintenance.
Then if anything fails....decide whether to fix it or sell it, as you drive one of your other vehicles.

The problems is the gap between actual miles and actual years. But a good tech or mechanic could probably let you know what areas should be addressed.

hv battery is really the only major item that suffers from high years and low miles. you should be fine.

I am with the above posts...
    Follow the service manual.
    What will fail?...unknown.

    At 63K and 11 years...
    Preventative maintenance:
    Lube brake pad pins...known issue
12V battery replace...3 to 5 year trouble free life
Trans oil change..many say 60K good time to change
Make sure brake fluid has been changed...age
Test coolants and replace if needed or just replace...age
Check suspension bushings (actually all rubber mounts)...age
    Lube door, hood, trunk hinges
Because of electrolysis, remove and inspect sparkplugs, replace the plugs using some anti seize.
    That's my two cents.

that's more about rear disc brakes on gen 3, cause they don't get used much. front discs on gen 2 aren't an issue.
