Whats up with all the Prius commercials?

I've been out the Prius loop for a while because my family has decided that a mini-SUV fits our needs better.

Not long ago the Prius was so popular that Toyota didn't find it necessary to advertise. Now I see a Prius commercial at least 3 or 4 times a day and I don't even watch that much TV. I like the new APR, but isn't the newly designed '08 model months away from being released? Perhaps poeple are holding back for the new design? How are sales going for the Prius now-a-days? Do you still have to pay MSRP or above MSRP? I'm sure they aren't selling below invoice.

I just bought a silver '07 #4, color and equipment as I wanted. Offered the dealer $1500 less than sticker price, no trade in, no financing and they took it. They had it in stock and quite a few others in inventory. I'm guessing this is a good time to buy with gas prices low and both dealers here (Tucson) having lots of units in stock.
