I still have my Atari 2600, but haven't played "Adventure" in ages. I used to have "Duke Nukem" on my computer, but that was also some time ago. I have an original Nintendo, where my favorite games were the "Dragon Warrior" series.

Now it's either "Unreal Tournament," "Unreal Tournament 2004" and "Battlefield 1942."

Man, I used to love Hunt the Wumpus! Rogue was always high on my list, too.

Going back to the era of the arcade, my favorite was (and still is) Gyruss.

MARIO KART! best game ever. And then they ruined it with double dash. Spent many a night in college having allout Mario battles (as opposed to racing). I can't find anyone that will battle me anymore though, so I haven't played it in years.

Zelda. Love the Zelda series all the way back to the original (except the 4 swordes).

Also, Shining force on the old Sega.

My 4 year old is just learning to play video games, so I'll soon be playing video games again!

I can't believe I left out Rogue. Probably the first computer game I ever played a lot.

I'll tell you guys what the best game ever is, but for those of you with addictive personalities, beware because it will destroy your life:

    Continuum/Subspace
    http://www.ssdownloads.com/

It's a free windows-based game, and it will sound stupid, but the best way to describe it is "online asteroids." It's a top-down 2D spaceship game, and you fight other spaceships. It's AWESOME!!!! Team play and turret-gunning are some of the fun features, but you really have to check it out yourself. If you play in the "Alpha West" zone and you see someone with the screen name "Re-Tarred," that's me so give a PrisuChat shout-out! ;)

    My other all-time favs:

    * Alternate Reality: The Dungeon (on my Atari 800XL, which still operates perfectly)
    * Gloom (Quake2 team-play mod that's aliens vs. humans)
    * Snood (yes, it's dumb, but still totally compelling)
    * Myst series (awe inspiring when I first saw it, and still a fairly unique game experience)
    * Black and White (Because it's just so much fun to throw the tiny people into the sacrificial fire and hear them scream! Haven't tried B&W 2 yet... some day)

I guess I am, too. I liked that game.

I have been playing Red Orchestra, which is a first-person-shooter war on the Eastern Front. I've gotten tired of fighting and getting killed. That game will show you the horrors of war better than any other I've played.

Lately I'm looking to lighten up and play something a bit more fun.

I just ordered "Galactic Civilizations II, Gold Edition," which includes the expansion pack "Dark Avatar." It is rated highly. It should be similar to Starcraft, and that's a reason I am trying it.

I've also ordered "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." I know it's a bit dated, but for only $15, and good ratings, I couldn't pass it up.

Submarine simulations have been fun in the past. I'm playing "Silent Hunter III," and have "Silent Hunter 4, Wolves of the Pacific," but I'm holding off playing that until they get the bugs out of that game.

Yep. Although the text-only one I used to play wasn't a D&D game. It was Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Wipeout. I remember lugging a tv and my playstation to a friends house and then linking the systems together. Later on we played on PSP's. My dream is on online version of Wipeout on the PS3 so I could race against other people from the comfort of my home.

    OOOH, I loved Wipeout 2.

As for Warhammer 40k, I was playing that with pewter figures and dice back in the day ;)

Oh, yeah. Best text adventure game ever made. And you can play it online! With pictures even, if you so desire.

Right now, I'm enjoying my xbox 360 - playing Tiger Woods 2006. I play my 76 year old father who is in another province. I used to play a huge amount of Age of Kings/Mythology on the PC -played my father in law quite a bit over the internet. It's nice to make gaming a family affair over large distances.
