When making lefts and I think rights I can feel the power cut out sometimes. It's always done it so I was thinking it was normal. I was wondering if there is a cv joint that could be wearing out, but it would do it all the time versus just turns I would think.

Not normal. What is the fuel tank level when this happens?

It's a full tank. I think it does it at all levels. I'll have to feel if it is power to the wheel or total power. What could it be?

Can it be traction control cutting power? Can I shut it off to test?

Well, if the fuel level was low, maybe the fuel pump is not picking up fuel when the fuel sloshes around. Since that is not the issue, check the engine oil level on the dipstick.

The traction control light would turn on (which is the car with a wavy track below it) if traction control was an issue.

    Do any warning lights appear?

No warning lights. I'll check oil and check if lights come on when I turn and report back later. Thanks for you help

Do you mean the power cuts out to the engine or do you mean the power cuts out to the steering?

    Jeff,

If it is the traction control triggering there will be a momentary flash of the yellow "wheel slip" icon on the dash. This is a common occurrence in a Gen2 when accelerating into traffic while turning if a front wheel slips (sand, ice, bump ... ). It can also be caused if you have mismatched tire diameters.

    Thanks Jeff,

I think it's what you describe with the accelerating into a turn. I'll check tire pressure also. I think it tends to kick on more if one tire is too low relative to the others.

If this is the problem, then the solution would be to get better tires and keep them properly inflated.

What brought you to think this was not normal all of a sudden, since thinking it was normal behavior before? How long have you owned the car?
