I went over this sneaky log and it nearly tore it off. I ziptied it at two points just to keep it not dragging on the ground. It's a temporary fix tho. Where can I buy the clips or maybe bolts that attach the plastic cover to the frame? Gen 3 2010 Prius.

They are available as generic replacements on Amazon or at Auto Supplies. Dealer prices are acceptable as well.

^ This is a screen-grab from a Toyota TSB for the underpanel (full pdf attached); has a nice summary of the fasteners. They're numbers 3 through 5. The majority are #3, and at the rear of the panel there are two #5's which are a bit larger, have grey plastic heads.

The two #4's are sort-of internal, plastic-to-plastic. If you only remove the whole panel, never just open the "oil change flap", then you'll never touch them.

There's also 6 metal bolts: 4 at the front edge, and 2, interspersed with plastic fasteners, in a row just a bit further back. The part no's for those are not listed. I did lose one of those, have the part no somewhere, but suspect those are not missing for you?

I found a few of the plastic fasteners on ours starting to lose teeth, so got a replacement set through Amayama 2~3 years back; price was fairly reasonable, I suspect cheaper than local dealership.

Super informative. The metal bolts in the front are still attached. The 3s are all gone so I have to get those. The 4s and 5s the plastic decided to just tear around it so I'm not sure I'll be able to fox that but as long as the 3s are in place and I have it zip tied it won't hang off the ground

I've had ours off maybe 30 times (oil changes every 6 months, and various other forays). Frequent removal/install gets you real familiar with it. If you have it off, wash the plastic fasteners out in soapy water, work the mechanism back and forth, and they'll last.

My solution is to avoid taking it off with a more robust oil change access door that easily opens with a piano hinge.

Toyota uses 7mm nylon push in pins. Most other manufacturers use 8mm ones.
