Where exactly Cylinder Block Drain Cock Plug?

    Slide under the car with the plastic engine under covers removed. Find the oil filter, on the rear-facing side of the engine. Start looking farther up that rear side of the engine, upward from the oil filter.

    It's tricky to see because you've got a drive axle blocking your view, and also a bracket or two, but about halfway up the block, there it is.

    It's also tricky to get a socket and extension onto, for the same reasons that make it tricky to find.

    (Photo from existing PriusChat thread on the topic.) It might be that some variants of the engine just have an ordinary-looking hex head bolt there, rather than the more distinctive-looking spigot-y thing. Mine has the spigot-y thing.
