Does anyone know where to buy a donut spare tire (17") for my 2017 four touring for a reasonable price? I checked my closest dealer and they want about $700 for the rim and tire. I just bought it and it didn't come from the factory with one. Thanks.

Get a temp spare? Third gen uses a 16”, and 4th gen a 17”. Tire sizes are in Owners manuals (they can be downloaded from Toyota Tech Info), and the temp spare rim part nos (and/or ordering) are available from online Toyota parts retailers (or parts depts).

my 2 cents, get the 3rd gen (16”) version; it’s closer to stock 195/65R15 tire size.

note: it does not matter that your tire size is 215/45R17, spare tire is same.

Pretty sure that a Corolla rim will fit.
Try eBay...used auto parts emporium, etc.

Yeah for full size 15” spare, Corolla steel rim circa 2003~2008 (approx). It’s also a matrix rim?

Any “compatible” generic rim will do, but the Toyo rim will be exact fit, for hub opening for example.

Before you do anything, check the space available to STORE whatever spare you get.
HIGHLY unlikely that there is enough space to tuck a full sized wheel and tire away out of sight.......and out of the way.

Call your dealer back and ask about the price of an "emergency spare" tire and wheel.
There may be space to store one of them.

Without throwing about a grand at it, it’ll be atop the hatch floor or behind a front seat.

Yeah, I didn't make it clear. I'm looking for a donut. I think I can take out the foam insert and there is a place for it and I'll have to figure out a place for the jack and lugwrench. I may be able to cut it out and make everything fit.

    Check with some salvage yards.
    Or other dealers.
$700 sounds AWFUL high for a donut.

The last set of "take-off" OEM rims and tires (with 4 miles on them) I got for a GMC 4x4 were around $700.......

$700 for ONE tire....and not even an adult-sized tire for a Prius (or Corolla....or Yaris....etc) is rather steep to say the least!

I agree, it's ridiculous. I've been trying to find one in a salvage yard, but no luck. It seems they are scarce and a lot of people are looking for them.

They're not scarce if you can cast a wider net.

(NOTE! this is for illustration purposes only!!) I haven't verified which Dorman number will work with Priuses....mostly because I do not have to.
My company will not allow their technicians to drive out the gate without something as basic as a spare tire, which might be part of the reason that they didn't buy any G4s ;)

Speaking of G3s - do not their doughnuts fit on a G4?
As I said before, Corolla doughnut spares fit too.....from what I've been told.

I checked that website and couldn't find one that fit mine. But I did order one off ebay for $140 including tax. That's a lot better than that dealer price. It's used but hopefully it is is in good shape. The seller had almost perfect reviews. He said Prius has 3 sizes but mine worked according to the vin #. This four has everything that I always wanted and only 22,500 miles but I knew I had to have a spare. I should have made the dealer pay for it. If anyone else needs one I think the seller had a couple more. He just deals in tires he picks up at salvage yards I suppose.

If nobody buys the levels that don’t have a spare, Toyota will reinstate them, on all the levels. Until then...

I picked mine up at a "u-pull" junk yard for 20$; it's a135/80R16 which works out to within 0.1" of the 17" wheel diameter. I originally tried to find a Gen 3 spare, but none of the vehicles in the yard actually had one. I eventually just started trying every donut I could find until I found one with the right size/bolt pattern.

Thanks, I had to buy one off eBay for $140. Wish I could have had your luck.

@Tideland Prius’s started a thread about manufacturers nixing the tow eyelet. This is similar, but I’d deem the nixed spare more of an affront.

Pricey, but still not too bad compared to your original price tag. I was quoted 250$ at my dealership, which is why I went the junker route. I made my own luck by digging through every import in that yard for a couple hours, lol.

I can't believe my nearest dealer quoted me a $750 price for the tire and rim. They just lost my business. I'll never go to them for anything no mater how far I have to drive.
