I have seen all different places to put the blind spot mirrors on the regular side Mirrors. Top outside or top inside closest to the car, or bottom outside or bottom inside Closest to the car. Is The placement the same for both sides of the car? I love this car but it certainly has a huge blind spot area on both sides of the car

It depends how you have your mirrors setup. If conventional, place them as mentioned above.

If you have your side mirrors adjusted to eliminate the blindspots on either side, as I do, then use the small stick on convex mirrors only as an aid to see the stall markings when reversing into parking stalls. Then place them on the inside lower corners so you can see the side of your car and the markings on the ground.

I use the cheap 3" round spots. I place them as far to the outside and as high up as possible. That leaves an inch or so under the spot where you can still use the main mirror. And it allows a full view of the side of the car.

One tip: be careful not squeeze the spot mirror too far to the outside, cause it will block the motion of the power mirror when it tries to pivot out. Keep it inside the outer edge of the mirror. Use a small loop of scotch tape to temp stick the spot and see if it checks out, then mark the spot with more tape, then and only then peel the backing off the spot.

I tried the outside tops on my car and outside bottoms on my wife's. I liked the bottoms better so moved mine.

Yes, it leaves more of the main mirror available IMO when placed on the bottom outside corner.

I have bought, installed and removed so many blind spot mirrors for this vehicle it's ridiculous. It's almost a subconscious hobby. If I pass an automotive parts store I haven't been in, I stop and check what they offer as far as blind spot mirrors.

It's all okay, but I think The Prius mirrors are a little on the small size. Right now I'm going with the standard round 2 inch mirrors, and I place them on the outside lower edge.

It's been a oddly difficult battle to find mirrors and positioning I like on The Prius. But I mostly attribute it to the mirrors themselves being a little oddly shaped as well as I think a little small.

I found some 2" mirrors at Advanced Auto that were adjustable inside their housing. After putting them on outside bottom it gave me the ability to play around until I was able to find an optimum setting.

I like those adjustable mirrors, except for the fact that they are easily knocked out of adjustment when washing/drying the car and other people.

Looks like we have a consensus: put them on the mirror somewhere.

How does washing/drying other people affect the mirrors? ;)

    Sorry, xliderider, I couldn't resist...

Problem is that they REALLY stick and its a bear to remove the goo.
Which is why I suggest using some scotch tape to temp place them and see if you like.

Put to the outside and low. You'll get used to them in no time.

    Just dont go too small.

Inside on top is a dead area, where no vehicle will ever be seen anyway... except perhaps a flying Delorean. That's where I've been putting mine. Works great.

Another suggestion is to get the tinted kind. Blue works really well. I got my set at PepBoys for $8.

Must depend on how tall a person is. I use low and out for all our cars, and on mirrors large enough to have open areas I use that upper portion.

On the C I have 3 inch convex mirrors. There's no extra space above the stick on.

I second high inside. Initially I put them on the bottom part of the mirrors and didn't like them there.

The mirrors are a touch too small. One of the few negatives I have about the car. I think the mirrors could be designed to be further out without a major aerodynamic penalty if they gave a skinny arm and a narrow shape.

I don't think there is a right or wrong place to have that we can put them right square in the middle?..

Great point regarding the use of some temporary tape to make sure that the mirror will still adjust fully with the added blind spot mirror. ThNks
