I have an 05 that the gas engine has died in. Has hail damage too. Is there an aftermarket where I can sell the battery? If so where (I'm located in Colorado)? Thanks.

Your best bet is craigslist. On another note hook a fellow member up with your key fob so I can have a backup or two if you have two :)

Is it a core or in good working condition? We are looking for one to use at our shop here in CA. Are you willing to ship it? :)

If I Denver call Mile Hybrid Automotive.
Else if Boulder call Boulder Hybrid.
They may offer a token amount for your battery.
Else sell it to a recycler.

The battery was fully functional when the gas engine through a rod a couple of months ago. As it is still in the car, I am just trying to determine the best way to get rid of the car. Am researching whether to sell the whole car or sell by parting out.

Ask around it may be a few thousand to put an engine in.
You'll have to decide if it is worth it.

salvage yards, but yes, labor is more than the engine. if you do, put in a new tranny too. same labor.

As others have said, craigslist but I'll add put the whole car up for sale in the car section. Recycler/reseller types will be looking there. If you try to part it out, the good stuff will go first and you'll be left with a large POS on your property that no one wants. IOW, sell the battery and throw the rest of the car in for free!

salvage yards. there are plenty of low mile wrecked gen 2's, and engines rarely need replacing.

You can get a used engine for $300. Paintless dent repair can get rid of hail dents.

If you discount the car $1k to $2k you'll likely get someone to buy it.
