Ideally if any manufacturer makes a coil over like this one for the Prius this is what you should get and is the only type you should get. this coil over allows you to adjust ride height without changing suspension travel.

anything other than this setup will be a downgrade. or at least not the best way to go.

What's a setup like this run?

I would imagine anywhere from $1000 and up. I think the K Sports I posted before have this option and they run about $1200 But if you factor in the benefits of being able to lower your car without effecting the geometry of the factory suspension its priceless. This setup is the closest thing to having drop spindles which are used on most race cars. this setup would allow you to have a comfortable ride for when city driving but if you wanted to take your Prius to the race track you could stiffen the spring rate without loosing suspension travel.

How does any coilover achieve this effect? The coil is only one member of the supension. By adjusting its height you are affecting the geometry.

unless you have a coil over that you can adjust the position of the lower mount like what I was describing earlier. raising the mount to lower the car the wont effect the cars handling characteristics other than giving it a lower center of gravity.
