Which one to get?

    My wife's car died and we are looking to replace it. She drives 100-250 miles a day for work. So switching to a Prius made sense.
    There are three that we have mostly narrowed down to
    2014 prius three with 10k miles for $17k
    2010 prius four with 66k miles for $11k
    2013 prius three with 55k miles for $14k

    So one that is higher priced lower miles. One that is higher miles and wont have a battery warranty very long and one in between. What are the opinions on which to get?

    Just my humble opinion, but if you can afford a new one, it may be worth it. I only say this due to the amount of miles driven per day. But, if you must get a used one, the 2014 should be fine.

    Thanks, yeah the reson for not getting a new one is the miles driven, it will depreciate so quickly.

    If she wants to keep it for a while - at that mileage maybe 5-6 years, I would get the 2014. You'll save a lot off a new one and it is essentially new with 10K miles. If she wants to keep it even longer I'd spring for the new one and get the new features. If she is going to want to trade it in after 2 years, you'll still take a big hit on depreciation with the 2014 at $17K so I'd lessen that blow by getting the $11K 2010. That way in 2 years when it's worth only $6K you haven't taken a huge hit. Just my 2 cents.

    The 2017 Prius all have the TSS-P safety features, even the low Trim Two like I have. I really enjoy the radar cruise control (DRCC) on the highway.
    Just another data point. Safety is an important factor.

    how long would you keep it? prius has some very expensive repairs compared to gassers.

    i like the 2014 if you can afford it, but the '10 might be the best deal.
    in my mind, if you're gonna keep a car a long time, maintenance and driving style are key, so the newer the better. do the package options matter to you at all?

    It really depends on the condition and how well each one was maintained. They are all great cars. You can't always tell by mileage and price. I would look at and drive all 3. I bought my last one from a dealer that just sells Prius and Leafs. The car I planned on buying once I saw it has scratches and was not as expected. You won't know till you see and drive each.
