Why did my mpg drop suddenly today?

    My hunch is that since we use very little battery power when doing efficient driving we don't need to worry about the battery overheating, unless it is extremely hot of course. :)

    Seriously, there are many threads on the subject. This is probably the most extensive. Start there and do a good search if that doesn't answer all your questions.

    Many of us that use it have it on a timer to turn it on 3 hours or so before driving. It's probably not worth the cost of electricity to run it longer than that. It's about 400W, so 3 hours a day is 1.2 kWh. You can do the math from there with your own electricity cost.

    I use it at home, of course, and at my part time job site. There is nowhere to plug in at the full time site.
