Why do some Prius models come with Black OEM wheels? vs Silver?

    I have the Blizz/White 2010 Prius II, I'd love to add some black rims to it and do love the look of the OEM wheels. But I see some models were made with Black versions of them.

    I wish mine came with the black ones :( oh well

    Some were made before 2011 and others were made in 2012 or later ;)

    2011 and earlier = silver
    2012 and newer = black

    I'll trade you, but pickup only...

    Thanks for answering my question! Makes sense. I don't mind the look of the silver at all, but in the end I want black.

    You should post in the Private Sales forum. There'll most certainly be someone who thinks the grass is greener on the other side and want your silver rims.

    The 2013 models also come with black wheels, sweet!! Pull off the hubcaps, get the chrome center caps, very nice look....

    I'm trying hard to move to Phoenix and by then may have the new wheels I want for mine. I dont like the black. if it all works and you have no luck, I'll give them away but maybe not with the sensors. It could be a few months and is still an "if" but I will keep you in mind if I make it.
