    then Boing tried to "make due" - slapped an efficient power plant on to the same old existing aircraft technology. Next thing you know - Boeing aircraft falling out of the sky as they'd stall - with their new efficient engines - coupled to defective software a la VW software - Let's hope Toyota doesn't stall with their aging hybrid tech - & ice & 40+ yr old never-quite-ready-for-mass-production hydrogen cars.
    Unlikely Toyota is hyperfocusing on Tesla inventory. Likely they have bigger fish to fry.

    Mirai’s roof has never blown off :ROFLMAO: maybe innovation and quality really do take time to develop, test and make sure there are no car fires.

    ... and - any car company that had to give away the car and the fuel that makes it go would normally bring in MASSIVE amounts of customers. The fact that the Mirai merely brings in a paltry few, is reams of evidence of its impractical aspect - like ultimately having to pay $15 per unit of fuel, like not being able to drive interstate, like having virtually no one to work on it, for starters - at least not for "just 10 more years".
    Still - very happy works for some.

    You are striking out at Tesla thinking it will make hydrogen cars look better. Will you do the same to VW, Hyundai, the Chinese, etc. when their BEVs start greatly outselling FCEVs?

    Sold only in California and Hawaii with only initial projected sales of 3,000 units and by only 11 dealers. These 11 dealers have trained certified mechanics that work on the Mirai - which mostly constitute inspecting and rotating tires. What do the Tesla mechanics have to deal with on a daily basis?

    Call it what you want. Just sharing facts just as Tfans are doing the same. I don’t see a world where only BEV are available - that would be very boring.

    And it has nothing to do with not being able to respond to facts brought up about hydrogen?

    Good point. If this is a 1 in a million defect (99.9999% of the time it doesn't happen) then it might take the Mirai 100s of years to show a similar defect rate.

    incentivized & discounted deep enough, they may be able to statistically - sell /lease 3,000 hydrogen cars, eventually - sure. Statistically though, 3000 cars, compared to over ½ million cars? in one year?
    Those 3,000 (some day eventually) lease/sales are a fraction (~1/6 of 1%) of (at least) one of the BEV manufacturers. What would hydrogen car sales be like without free fuel & paying the actual cost that manufacturers need just to break even.
    That's not striking out at hydrogen, that's just laying out the statistics.

    From the article above, that's worldwide and from the article - most went to Korean municipalities, since the Korean automotive industry is run by the government;
    But since the goal seems to be doing something that has nothing to do with sustainability, that's as good as the next financial loser.

    Germany is the leader in Hydrogen and will be the country that most new Mirai will be sold in. As to Korea, Hyundai has put 10k FCEV on the road. Who cares who is driving them. That’s 10K less ICEs, which is 10k less daily emissions into our atmosphere.

    Currently, there are cars powered by gasoline, diesel, electricity, hydrogen, and a few other sources. The fact that most cars run on gasoline doesn’t mean you can’t get one that uses some other form of fuel for energy. Likewise, in the future, when the dominant fuel type is likely going to be electricity, that won’t prevent you from driving a car that runs on hydrogen or whatever else.
