Why it so hard to find decent wheel hubs?

I had a 2008 Nissan Rogue and hated it, the front hubs crapped out, both around 85,000 miles. I bought two "TRQ" brand wheel hubs and when I finally got rid of the junk heap at about 130,000 miles, they were still fine. They also had great reviews.

Toyota Stealership quoted me $235 for ONE hub. Ouch.

So I looked at Aftermarket and ended up going with a brand called "NTN" which looks to have the OEM Koyo bearing in the photo.

What strikes me as odd though, is ALL of the cheaper wheel hubs had poor reviews. Some lasted maybe 10-15k miles before failure.

I've never had issues with aftermarket parts, hell my AC condenser is a cheapy no-name brand and it has worked well over a year.

Why are aftermarket wheel hubs on the Prius so crappy unless you splurge for name brands?
