Z, i love you man, but until there are as many charging stations as gas stations, we're not even close.

Agreed. Looking at the Tesla charging map, I would have a difficult time driving a Tesla 3 from Erie Pa to Towanda, Pa nearly 250 miles with no charging stations between.

I also wonder how the range is reduced by all the snow and cold weather we get here in Ohio. I guess it is the reason the Northeast is the last to get EVs.

Only 6 charging stations in Minnesota......

thats's why we need 25 miles to go 18 in winter.;) right now, i have 16, only good for 12, with no heat, except seats. try defogging your windshield with cold outside air when it's 35 out. and of course, that blows cold air on your feet too.

Don't blame them. That 92-96 Camry was like a mini Lexus. It looked like a more expensive car, particularly in Dark Emerald Pearl.

Toyota was able to hide the bumper-to-body gap with the design elements of the car.

    There are:p
    Actually, there are many more.

Listen, I get that there are outliers for whom a 200 mile BEV wouldn't work.
But there are Billions of outlets in this country, and any of them can be used for an overnight charge that matches the average daily drive.
On top of that, you have fast charge and public level two chargers popping up. 7es, that network is young, but it already works quite well for many people.
I am also sure that the supercharger network won't allow every single individual to drive anywhere they want to go. It does allow me to drive anywhere I want to go.

Yuck, I hate driving like that in the winter (I tried it once).
This is a reason it is critical for people to be aware of what can affect range and to choose the right car.
In our case, the car heat is basically instant (no waiting for the car to warm up), can be preheated safely in an enclosed garage, and we never freeze ourselves as we always have plenty of range.

I suspect the Leaf will bet there before Tesla, although the Bolt will beat them both.

Yeah...depends on how you measure it...and what you're willing to tolerate. I do think EV cars make ideal 2nd cars for a household, but I would never recommend them as a person's sole vehicle option. It's niche as a 2nd Vehicle choice would be limited, I'm not quite as bullish as you are on it's prospects, demographics of potential buyers won't be as numerous with more people being Single and shunning homes.

Anyhow, I can wait another decade for the EV revolution to arrive, just bought my Prius, and getting ready to make a 2,500 Mile round trip to visit the Grand Canyon and other National Parks in Southern Utah in a few weeks, it'll be a while till you can do that easily in an EV Car.

I suspect the Leaf will arrive at the exact same time as the Bolt, but won't be announced until very close to the release date as to not cannibalize the 2016 Leaf sales.

I hope you are right! I'd love to see the second gen Leaf out at the end of this year.

With nothing to base my guess on, I would think the 2nd gen Leaf would have at least 150 miles of range. The refreshed Leaf already goes over 100 miles, and considering the upcoming Bolt and Tesla are aiming for 200 miles of range, the Leaf will need to remain competitive.

Nissan has been extremely tight lipped about it.
Little hints here and there in interviews, but no official statements or even "leaks".
Rumor is, they plan to match the Bolt's 200 mile range and it will be released at about the same time as the Bolt.
