If you can, great, but if not, just a curiosity. I did confirm regular cruise control does it too.

I'm in Utah and none of the dealers had a Prime on the lot. I ordered one without seeing it test driving and the months later I got it. Salesman said there's a low demand here. Maybe Cali should send some over as my friend said they wouldn't buy one without seeing it testing.

I'm in Phoenix, and our weather this winter can hardly be called "winter" yet. But my ICE has never come on while the EV Mode is enabled and there are remaining miles showing on the display. I go to a destination across town once a week, and that has ensured that the ICE comes on for at least half the trip. Since I got the car, I have 550 mi on it and just about 1/10th tank of gas used. So it's working pretty doggone well for me!

Jayne, Mark Miller Toyota shows they have 4 Primes on their website. They are located in downtown Salt Lake.

Thanks, but back in November 2017, nobody showed they had one on the lot. I'm happy with my Prime.

I ordered my Prime March 6, 2017 from Foothills Toyota in Burlington, WA and finally got it on May 25th. I was just over there Thursday and now they have more than one in their inventory, so if anyone in the Pacific NW is having problems getting one, go online and check the inventory at Foothills.

I saw the first mention of the Prime in a Toyota TV ad last week.

One of the reasons they've not sold as many as they could is that they've done virtually nothing to promote the vehicle through advertising or giving their dealers any incentive to promote the vehicle.

After six months of ownership, I have encountered only two other owners -- both of whom were really enthusiastic about the vehicle.

The Prime is one helluva cool little car. It's just that nobody knows about it.

Basically, if it’s not a SUV, or pick-up, there isn’t much (any) tv advertising. About the only mention of a PHEV I’ve heard in the past weeks has been for the Outlander (just that there is one). I don’t recall any mention of the Volt, Bolt, Fiat 500e in local media (a couple of months ago a local Ford dealer had a few adds for the Focus EV, but not lately).

There’s definitely a lot of unsold 2017 Primes in So Cal. My guess is Toyota is trying to maintain a price floor for the vehicle’s introduction.

Except when the 2018’s finally hit the dealers it should be discount time ;)

There was probably pent up demand as many people pre order. I can't find them here in NC unless I want little choice, long wait and over MSR +transport+699 DOC etc.

I am going up north for spring break. Will fly up, pick up a new 2017 at 5k discount. Will give my PiP to my son who is almost done with his Learner's permit. I feel much better with him having a car with lots of safety features and is not a speed burner!

But I did find the Carmax dealer up north that has a lot of inventory of Primes to chose from.

There are 2 here in my hometown, with a 3rd on it's way. (1 Advanced / 2nd & 3rd being Premium). Last time I drove by the dealership both had "invoice pricing" on the windshields.

Dk Grey Metallic on the Advanced
Some weird light blue on the other Premium one.

Both unsold 2017's. The third is a 2018

I saw that blue color in the dealer's florescent-lighted showroom and almost puked. It reminded me of a very poorly maintained swimming pool. Kind of a faded aqua-greenish tinge.

A few weeks later, I saw a Prime in that color ("Blue Magnetism") in normal daylight and it's stunningly beautiful. It's a very intense metallic blue.

If supermarkets lit their produce departments using the same approach as many car dealerships, nobody would buy any fruits or vegetables.

In Ca. we have the HOV rules changing 1-Jan-2019 which will disqualify (from free HOV) many plug-ins on the HOV today. So I am expecting a possible banner year when folks realize they have to get new plug-ins to stay on HOV. But who knows? I feel like the response to the HOV changes is in slo mo so far. But I'd be curious if that impacts Toyota thinking.
