Why on earth are some hybrid vehicles dammed ugly?

Does this has to do with their designs, or some kind of aerodynamics, the MPGs per we?

Lexus is incorporating a whike lot of stuff on that cross over, to extend range.

But won't d that be more expensive?

Take a look at the Lexus LF1.

The frontal part looks like a sharks mouth.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don’t think those are ugly. At least they do have styling and not just the same old bland look that some car companies have done for some time.

You're right. Take a look at the hood area of the car.

How in the world can these front ends be clean aerodynamically?

If you think about the water droplet (aerodynamic shape) it has a blunt front end. Slight texture in the front end (styled grill and front end) doesn’t really matter for aerodynamics that much if there’s no air flowing through it.

When discussion of the goofy front "bumpers" gets old, we can move onto the current state of the interiors... :sneaky:

When I lived in the UK, (I moved here (USA) in 1983) I remember a campaign suggested by RoSPA¹ to encourage the designers of commercial lorries (trucks) to make the front of the cabs look more "friendly" rather than "aggressive" (I remember as a very young car-spotter, thinking that the lorries looked nice and friendly or like evil bullies depending on the position and the shapes of their radiator grilles and headlamps. RoSPA carried out studies which seemed to prove that drivers were influenced by the intimidation factor of the vehicles they faced on the road! ;)

I think the interiors would be perfect! Its the front end that I'm just so ... Seems to be almost standard.

Maybe we would say that could be a factor some designers consider in their designs?:D

iirc, the gen 4 or prime front ends were so bad, they had to do other things to improve aero. i may not rc though.

Predator (1987) film? There's a scene near the end where the face (?) of the alien crab-like thingy is in view (I still have nightmares :eek:about that!) That's what the Nissan pic. reminds me of (…that, and Yoko Oh-No-Thankyou!) ;)
