If you're in the market for used mid-90's car then go for it. I haven't been in the used car market since the late 1970's.

The Hyundai Accent, stripped is $12.5K MSRP and gets 32/35 EPA http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/hyundai_acc...l_overview.html (you really should try to google this stuff to learn the facts before posting). It's also classified as a sub-compact car, comparable to the Toyota Yaris. Not something I would be interested in. As I said, the Prius is a mid-sized car and it's packed with a bunch high end electronic goodies.

guess what? new cars cost more money than used cars. new cars have a warranty. new cars have better options. new cars have more advanced safety features- which people care about if you are an adult and have a family to take care of, a career to build, a future to look forward to. are you that naive?

and hey. spend your free time in a more constructive way- learn to communicate in a normal and mature manner with others.

yeah. and it's a freakin' hyundai. i wouldn't be caught dead in one, personally.

You've been a very reasonable GasGuzzler87, in spite of your lack of affection for the Prius. It's certainly not for everyone, but it holds the promise of great things to come.

Just wanted to point out that that the Prius has a standard 3 year/36,000 mile warranty like most cars. But it also has an 8 year/100,000 mile (I believe) minimum warranty on all the hybrid components, and that is extended to 10 years/150,000 mile for the battery and such as it qualifies as "emmissions equipment" under the California emmissions standards and also the many states that have adopted the same standards as in my state.

Go back and read the original posts and thread, because you also just perverted what they said and I bolded the part in your quote in which you did this.

No one said that they beat a sports car or sports bike in a straight full on 1/4 mile race. That is where the perversion came in. For instance, the person who mentioned the sports bike said they only stayed with the bike up to 40 mph and the person talking about the Viper basically said they didn't think the Viper driver knew how to drive it. This is exactly what donee was talking about.

in 2004, the only other car with as many options and features with the BC package (26,000$) was an acura that was 32,000$. so it depends on what you compare it to. I've sat in my friend's Hyundai accent... and I hated it, it was so cheap. So why do people compare it to that? Just because some people wan't to buy something of better quality, but at greater cost, does not mean that it's a poor expense.

Prius batteries, when they die, are recycled. Who told you they were dumped in a landfill? Assumption? Whatever, but its not true.

hybrids arent that greatest thing ever made in the automobile world, its seriously somthing people like you have to learn.

The future of the hybrid isnt definate YET, it can ethier become a reality or like the EV cars of the late 90's be flushed down the shitter and never been used on a large part ever again.

My guess is this whole hybrid is some transitional aid into somthing better....much better. Im hoping internal combustion hydrogen engines will catch on. The basic operation isnt different from todays gasoline engines. And you can still have that huge v8 (or v10) under the hood of your car or truck, and not have liberals and the like complain about the enviroment or be worried about gas being 30.00 a gallon. To bad this is only a dream or far cry from what is going to happen becuase the government and oil companies "need" all the money they can get "phsss, yeh right"

The reason i "assumed" the hybrid batteries were sent to the landfill was becuase there are alot of batterys (even today) that arent recycled and i figured cost it would take to recycle the bigger batterys of hybrids would be too much.

I know this is way off topic but $20/hour? Do you think $40,000 per year is a lot of money? You should really consider college instead of going straight to a trade, I don't care what you drive, if you are 17 (or almost 17) get an education, it is the best investment you can make. I would hate for you to be buying $800 SUVs for the rest of your life. You do plan to move out of your parents house eventually, rent, food, utilities, and gas will eat up that paycheck pretty quickly. GO TO COLLEGE!

You can't type; you can hardly spell; you have no concept of punctuation; you wouldn't recognize an intellectual debate if it smacked you in the face; you have some fascination (internal struggle?) with the word "gay"; you don't know much about hybrids or the technology and now you've proven that you can't keep your word.

Here at Priuschat, we accomodate many things. We have compassionately tolerated your incoherant bleatings and ramblings for-- Sorry: big words. I will try to keep it small and safe for you.

We welcome all people to Priuschat who want to have a smart discussion with other smart people. Those who can read and in-ter-nal-ize (sound it out, you can do it) what other people are saying are welcomed to stay and be our friends. Those who have diff-i-cul-ties (good job!) playing well with others should go away.

If you had any problems with any of the large words I have used, you can look them up at www.tfd.com.

Funny you should mention HVAC in the same thought as you mention college because the difference between us is that you climb ladders, pull wires, and make connections on the very same HVAC equipment that I help design, troubleshoot, debug, and teach people how to use. And I know one HVAC Specialist on this board who I'm sure would agree that though there are many persons who know how to pull wire, a very rare few can personally bill $80/hr. I'm willing to wait ten years to see for sure.

I suppose "doing fine" is a personal opinion.

I second Tony's comment. Looking at your incredibly gross use of the english language, inability to spell even simple words and lack of education on the topic of Hybrids I would place you at about 10 or 12. If you are older than this and still showing such a lack of education you should realistically prepare yourself for a low paying position. Even a tech for HVAC needs to be able to read a manual.

Why do people 'pimp' thier Prius?

When George Mallory was asked the question 'Why do you want to climb Mt. Everest ?' he answered "Because it is there."

I will answer the question then: "Because I bought it." :D

IM 16, and its the internet, I, (like alot of people on the internet), make many mistakes typing.....i think you can put the two together sence you see to have such a mind boggling higher I.Q. then me.

Oh thats right!!!! You only made that post to make your self feel better. I hope it worked, becuase i didnt affect me in anyway except in the reason listed at the end of this little response im typing so neatly for you.

Im truly sorry for the troubles your having with your women. But the idea of telling someone off becuase they spell worse then you (on the internet no less) and becuase of your personal problems is truely retarded, and fits your profile exactly.

Seriously, you just made may stereo-typical assumption that all liberal-prius owners think there better then the world one step closer to being true. I thank you.

I don't know, read a book about grammar and spelling? Manners? How to do research? How not to piss people off just by telling them your name? Honey, you won't get a job with ANY of those qualifications, and you sure won't be able to afford real cars, homes, and a family without one. So, maybe spend a bit of time trying to improve yourself instead of shrinking your already tiny mind. OTOH, I suspect most of us here would feel a lot better if you just promise NOW not to reproduce and further clutter the gene pool. Go back and play in the school yard for another ten years or so and don't come out until you know how to behave, without namecalling, in polite society.

I'm not quite sure, but I have reason to believe that you intended to say that liberal-Prius owners believe that they are better than the world.

It has been my experience that one needn't attempt to prove themselves better than someone else. Often times, it is the other person who proves it for them. And for that, we all truly thank you.

What, you really think im this way in public? As a person? lmao. Hey maybe im this screwed up in life, and just dont care!!!! OR maybe i dont give a shit about the internet....i think its that.

I actually have a portion of my life planned, and for most 16 yr olds, they dont even know what they want to do after school. I know what i want to do for the rest of my life. Tell me one other person you know at 16 that knows what they want to do in life? Ive yet to find one.

yeh, thats called "thinking your better then everyone else" it the opposite of proving you better at somthing.
