With all the seat mods out there and the favorable ratings of the new prius seats, is it possible to put a Gen III seat in a Gen II? without bolt modification and plugging in the same connectors? A plug and play type mod? Hopefully . . . anyone with both Generations in the garage that can take a look?

(also, howdy and grats to all you gen III folks from a Gen II new guy)

    :)

Sorry, but unfortunately a Gen3 seat will not drop into a Gen2 Prius.

The Gen3 width between front bolts is about 16.5" whereas the Gen2 is 15.5".

Even if the Gen3 did fit right into a Gen2 car, the lack of telescopic steering wheel in the Gen2 would make it all much less than stellar.

Try seat cushions, covers and maybe the extendmyseat.com brackets sold here if lacking seat travel.

Forgot to mention that even if a Gen3 seat would drop into a Gen2, you wouldn't want to purchase one new as it likely costs over $2.5k from Toyota. That's $2,500.

The Gen2 seat w/airbag costs that much.
