    Hi!

Does anyone know if Lever Assembly Shift L ("Shift Gear Selector Shifter Knob Sensor") 33560-47023 can be used as a replacement part on a 2004 Prius? The original number, 33560-47021, was replaced by 33560-47022, which was replaced by 33560-47023. So generally, only 33560-47023 is available.

(I'm having that problem where in cold weather the shifter keep popping back into neutral)

I haven’t used any of those parts, but Figure 33-12, Shift Lever & Retainer, in Toyota’s own parts catalog for the 2004 Prius, shows the ’023 number. The supersessions of ’021 and ’022 are in their database, meaning the new part completely replaces the older ones. Toyota often seems to increment the last digit of the part number when making minor, forward-compatible changes. I think you can buy the 33560-47023 with confidence.

Pretty sure the parts jockey at the dealer could answer this.
