Just curious. The wiper delete is a good idea. But what happens when you need to clean the rear windshield? No wiper to clean the wiper fluid ><

I use our rear wiper a lot so I would never want to loose it. Maybe if I lived in a dry climate but it doesn't bother me. Better to have it & not need it than need it & not have it..........just like a condom or gun.

The rear wiper was useless and doesnt clear the rear window, so I removed it.

I like the clean look, although I've used the rear wiper a few times in the rain or after a car wash....not that it makes much difference, it's almost like wiping a tabletop :D

    ^ True enough.
I go around with foaming glass cleaner and clean the windows at least twice as often as I wash the car anyway (and I wash my cars pretty often) :)

I'm thinking about this mod. How much did it cost you to paint the bumper?

that's expensive. I guess I'll have to wait and see if I can find painted one from e-bay.

    Hey Sean,
I just purchased the 2012 front bumper from ebay. It's getting shipped from Japan. I hope it gets here without any damage:) Do I need any other parts besides the parts you've listed like screws or bolts for this install?

    Thanks for the help!

Why would you purchase a front bumper cover from japan, your local toyota dealer will sell you one for less than the cost to ship one over from japan. They are all made from japan and they are all identical in design. I purchased the 2012 cover for my conversion for $200 with my discount. Honestly now that it is all done, it has been a total waste of money since the value of my prius has not increased and the color match will never be spot on unless your prius is black( I see that your prius is the pearl white, that is a 3 stage paint job, good luck getting anyone to match that color, the only way is to blend into both fenders and the hood for a decent match and that alone will set you back at least $1000. No matter what you do to change it to look like the 12 model, reality is that the 2012 interior is different, as well as the tailights, it is not worth it. I am now looking for a 2013 prius to purchase, in fact had I not done the swap I could have purchased a new 2013 with all the money I would have saved from the swap and selling my 2011 outright.
Parts list to do the complete swap besides the cost of the bumper cover will set you back another $800 or so, that does not even include paying a body shop to paint match your bumper cover ($500 minimum ) but I guarantee if you just paint your bumper it will not match the fenders and hood.

I see your point. Reason I bought it from Japan was because the bumper comes with the grill and original paint. So I don't have to spend money on paint and some parts. I'm hoping the color matches since it's factory paint and if it does I'll proceed with the install. Wish me luck.

Even factory paint is slightly off on bumpers (plastic) vs. body (metal), especially on light colors such as BP.

How much was the total cost , shipping for a piece that large to ship within the state is already around $180 . I do wish you the best of luck with the install. I do encourage you to keep all the 12 conversion parts if you do ever end up selling your car at a later time, you can sell it seperately for a whole lot more money for parts.
Did you purchase from the seller on ebay who also sells all the Ken style leather steering wheels and accessories from Japan.

I see you are from Phoenix, my sister in law just picked up a brand new 2013 prius package 3 from Right Toyota on Thursday, she got it out the door for $26k.

purchase price was $389.00 including the upper grill and shipping. I also found both DRLs with the bracket for $100 on ebay including shipping. So to complete this modification I'll need to buy the lower grill and the absorber foam piece which will cost around $150.00. Total cost will be around $650.00. Thanks for your advice. I def. will keep all the parts and install it back before I sell the car.

you're right. I saw Right Toyota Ad on TV they're having a good special pricing going on right now. As far as buying a new car I think I'm going to wait till the 4th generation comes out.
