Windows 10, yet, anyone?

It asks you if you want to use Cortina. Just say no.

 

Mine had a screen on the anniversary update about do you want to proceed with cortina install. Since I use it I zipped passed the screen

 

Windows says I'm up to date, and the update history makes no mention of "anniversary...". Maybe staggered release?? (I've got updates on defaults, to auto-update.)

 

You cannot uninstall Cortana on Windows 10 Technical Preview 2. However you my try turning it off from settings.

1. Left click on Search box.
   
   
2. Click Sandwich icon on Top left.
   
   
3. Click Settings and Turn off the button under “Do you want Cortana to work for you?”
   

This will turn off Cortana on your user profile. If you want to remove Search box in taskbar, right click on taskbar and click Search and choose Disabled.

It's an icon of a hand held lighted glass that enlarges what your looking at, it's on the task bar, thew "sandwich" is four lines, on the top of the pop up, I like the hint, it kills cortina

 

I might just go with the flow, resistance is futile. Then when the dust settles see about shutting stuff off as needed.

 

Per my previous post, I took the anniversary update, had problems, then went back to "old version of Windows".

Did a manual update on my daughters laptop and got the same giant screen that asked do you want to use Cortina. I said yes since I like the evil mistress lord.

Boy this Dell AMD A6 is a dead bloated 14 day old dog. How could anything be any slower?

Like changing the oil in an old car that burns a quart every 10 minutes.

Decided to give her my Surface Pro 2.

 

Anyone with Windows 10 and an iPhone install iTunes? I see some mention of "Apple Music" also being installed, not sure about that, backed out of the install. I'm backing up the phone to my pc with iTunes, periodically backing up images/videos to the pc, and deleting. That I do completely outside of iTunes, just Windows Explorer. I'm also syncing music on my pc to the phone, that I'm doing through iTunes.

Pretty much green about iTunes, it does seem a program that entrenches itself, always prompting about updates, staying in memory.

 

I have all of the above.....not sure what your question is specifically?

No? Is this the paid Apple version of Spotify?

 

When I start the iTunes install it says something about it's going to install "Apple Music" too. No charge, it's part of the free iTunes download. Not sure what it is, no option to opt out.

 

I don't remember seeing an Apple Music install but my latest iTunes install asked to install iCloud and I was giddy with my new Win10 install that I accidentally clicked yes. @&&!? What did I do? Every 10 minutes or so a stupid tab slid in telling me I have no more space in my iCloud account. Most annoying thing ever trying to play Simcity and a notification bar slides in your full screen game. I can understand if it did it once but constantly throughout my game? And during YouTube videos and browsing. Why is there no option to stop bugging me? Had to uninstall it.
