Windshield question

    I need to replace the windshild on my 2014 prius plugin, this is a base model I don't have HUD.

    I am finding out that the plug in windshield is different from the regular prius. Why is this?

    Safelite If you go into their web site for the online quote you will see two different prices. However I finally was able to get them to pull both windshields and they said they are the same. So I ended up with the standard Prius one, less cost. Thanks

    well done! how much did they get? how much is the hud?

    how can you tell the difference looking at a hud windshield?

    It doesn't seem like the HUD would require a different windshield. I do remember the 2010-2011 Plug-in coming with an acoustic interlayer, sound absorbing windshield.

    AFAIK, the HUD windshield has an area on it with a special coating on it to make the display easier to see. Kind of like a two way mirror coating, but not as reflective/extreme.

    My mistake. should have said Gen 3 Prius. Don't know that the Prius PHV ever had an acoustic windshield.
