After 2 years I had to replace my front blades... Local Toyota dealer wanted $100 for the two front "full assemblies". Decided to get the genuine Toyota replacement rubber only for $15 total.

Have some step-by-step instructions and pics that may help those who are a bit timid about attempting it...

I wish I had the time, skill and patience to do this but I simply don't. Plus, with abusive Wisconsin winters, replacing the whole wiper assembly is some inexpensive insurance. I love the NeoForms I mentioned above and the installation is literally 2 minutes max. Here's the whole procedure.

Unfortunately, the blog that the above link referred to has been removed.

Has anyone archived or reproduced those steps?

    Thanks.

Replacing wiper blades seem ridiculously easy. But knowing me I'll probably break the whole assembly. My front driver side wiper leaves streaks. But it hasn't been an issue for a few months since were in the middle of a drought. Will a Toyota dealership charge you to replace the blades, or just charge you for the blades themselves?

If you are looking for a better blade then it's a personal preference. If you're trying to save money your dealer should have wiper inserts and it should be the cheapest way to go. They are not hard to install and most dealers will install them for free.

On our Lexus vehicles we always use the replacements from the dealer -- they are inexpensive to purchase and made from high quality rubber......... only takes a few to switch out the rubber and replace. We do the same with the Nissan and many of the European brands that sell the inserts. The frames are well made with friction points that hold up -- we have some that are 10 years old and still going strong. Don't throw out the original wipers.

I've been using 28" blades on my driver's side for a very long time. Bottom chatters a bit, but I much prefer the larger area being wiped. Also be sure to measure the passenger side wiper blade at the actual rubber. Most are a half an inch to an full inch short allowing for an inch larger.
