    Yes, that is what I do, and the rubber insert is quite inexpensive.

    FWIW, look at post #8 in this string. It describes how to replace the rear blade with the OEM part. You can buy the part at any dealer and it will fit perfectly. The blade simply snaps on and off of the arm. It is a very quick job. No trimming of blades or having to mess with sliding blades in and out.
