I picture the parts guy, like the proverbial Maytag repairman.

 

Mendel, sometimes you will say something that makes me think you grew up in the Los Angeles area in the 60's. But you live in Canada. Did you spend some time down in the LA area during the 60's-70's?

 

No, but that era, and maybe time is at least as important as location. I grew up up the coast in a small town, Powell River, which I believe was started by an American entrepreneur, hmm…

 

TV in the 50's, 60's and 70's is like what social media and the internet is today. So when you refer to things like "the Maytag man, the Marlboro Man, Pat Paulson, SCTV, Ben Hunter's afternoon matinee, Hogan's Heroes, Mannix............I'm thinking this dude watched or saw the same things I did!

 

Funny thing: my parents didn’t get TV till the mid-sixties, but I got secondhand smoke at friends.
