Wire disconnected

    I noticed a disconnected wire today. It looks purple. Anyone know what this wire is for and where it should be attached. It’s on the passenger side on the backside of the engine. I’ve attached photos.

    That second pic looks like a ground wire broken off on the right side.

    Looks to me like something that once connected to that suspiciously-wireless light gray connector right next to it.

    I might have to search a bit to see what that is. From the position, I was tempted to think crank sensor, but if it were that, you would have asked "why won't my car start?".

    Edit: there it is, connector D26, engine oil pressure switch. Takes a single wire, and it's violet.

    Disconnected, you will never get a warning if the engine oil pressure goes dangerously low.

    And deprive owners of the chance to ignore a warning light? Notta chance.
