Since I'm heading for my 1st possible 70mpg average (179 miles so far, averaging 69.9mpg YAEH ... I finally got this hypermiling / pulse and glide thing figured out after trying & trying since '04 ~ dang it!) all I can say is, "you make me sick" :p

Yea, my wife has been known to hit the reset. For ever trying to get me to 'drive normal!!!!" She IS evil.

    EDIT:
    Oh,
BTW VABEACH, how much do you weigh?
I want you to carry sandbags, to make up for our weight difference. I'm 224lbs ... plus, say 5lbs for clothing. How 'bought it?! As we used to say to the little guys in college judo ... when we'd drop weight, to beat 'em in their lighter class, "I'm commin' after you" B)

I suppose you won't go for it. But really, I wonder how much the extra 30, 40, 50lbs is killing me. At 6'-5" I'd look anemic if I lost that much weight.

He must have honored my request to get back on his boat. :p

At the risk of insulting him, I'll try to give you a somewhat imprecise answer. I'm sure he weighs less than you, but I don't think the difference is quite that much. :D

    Hill,

Thanks Jim, but I unfortunately weight about 236 lbs. I have lost a little weight, I can actually see <strike>my pe</strike> the scale now. :D

    galaxee,

Keep in mind we don't have the luxury of having the larger capacity that the Japanese have with their "tanks" vs. our bladders.

I am at 493.7 miles with 83.2 showing on the display. I have to make a few runs around town, a trip out to my brothers, etc. I will post an updated picture later today.

C'mon Chris, slow down, be a Teddy Girl. To give you more incentive you have to catch up to my last tank first.

Sigh! I've never gotten total double miles of what I've seen at the half tank level. OTOH, I've never gotten more than 10.5 gallons in, even the time I ran out.

Good luck. You could just do it.

    Wayne,

Good job on your 851 mile tank. It has to be the weather, becuase I have been driving like this for a few months. With the weather change, comes greater mileage. I did eliminate the short trips. The weather really plays a big role in this FE thing.

Diamondlarry is really kicking a@%. I can see how it is possible to get 1400 miles on a tank now. It just takes me 40 days to drive 1400 miles. I am going to order a SG so that I can make my pulses a little more efficient.

I am hoping that my fill-up will finally calculate higher than the MFD display. I have been under every time due to the increasing warmer temps per fill up; we shall see. I guess that is the price you pay when you fill up once a month.

    Chris :
Do you have an EBH?? If not, even in the summer, it will add additional mileage, probably around 5 mpg per tank.... it did for me anyway.

I've heard the hypermilers in Japan use 'em year round.

yeah EBH rocks, i use it even in the summer, you can have your block at 30 degree C summer weather or all hot and toasty at 60 degree C ready to reach into stage 4.

All cars should come with it to reduce emissions at cold starts.

    Jeez & WOW !
Loosing 2% of your mpg, for each 100lbs of weight ... just think what your miles would be at if you were 100lbs lighter (though you'd look like a crack addict)

    Way to go!
