Well, my wife got her Clear Sky/Dark Gray '12 v 5/ATP on 27 April. She loves it, but I am having a heck of a time getting XM to activate the Fuel Prices feature (it worked fine for 2 days until I called XM to activate my account). After 5 hours on the phone to XM and Toyota I have been assured Toyota will get to the bottom of the problem. I seems the XM Customer Care reps in India, or God knows where, do not realize the XM Traffic, Weather, Sports, Stocks, and Fuel Prices are free for 3 years with the ATP. The 5 reps I talked to (Tyrone, Heidi, Hillman, Debra, and Coleen) were adamant that XM does not offer anything complimentary for 3 years, especially the Travel Link services. Right now I have XM Premium Radio (at my cost) for 3 months and all the Travel Link services except for the fuel prices. The last rep I talked to assured me I can purchase all the services in 3 months.

Update: I got a call from Toyota last night and the agent I talked to (he was supposed to call 3 days ago) told me he "has a person" at XM who knows what's what, and that I will be completely satisfied soon. We will see.

Right, I went through this, and recently solved it. I shall leave my answer here for the benefit of others foolish enough to have called XM Customer Service.

DO NOT CALL XM CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are not merely useless and aggravating, but incompetent enough to actively make problems worse. They can do three things only: Refresh your radio, put you on hold until you are disconnected, screw up your account by half arsing things you can do from the web site yourself anyway.

If, as I and the OP mistakenly did, you activated your radio under them only to find the XM Fuel prices disfunctional, do the following.

    1. Log in to your account on the Sirius - XM website.
    2. From the my account page, select the obnoxiously named "Enhance my trial with more great programming" option.
    3. At the bottom of the next page where the data services are listed, you should see "XM NavTraffic and NavWeather", "XM NavTraffic", "XM NavWeather", "XM TravelLink" listed. Ensure the first is de-selected, and the other three selected. The price should be listed as "Included".
    4. Click through the rest of the process selecting a renewal date, entering a credit card, etc.
    5. Go out to the car and tune the radio to XM channel 1.
    6. Use a smart phone or convenient associate to send a refresh signal to your radio from the XM Tech Support page.

In 5 to no more than 15 minutes, the XM Fuel prices should begin working.

Good luck, and remember, under almost no circumstances should you ever call XM Customer Service. It is an act of masochism.

    - Jock Tamson, Who screamed expletives at them after stating "I just refreshed my radio. If the next thing you tell me is that you are going to send a refresh signal to my radio, I am going to scream expletives at you."

What am I suppose to do if I already have an XM account and want to update it to add to my XM account. Plus I want to upgrade from XM Select to XM Premier. What do I do so the don't mess up the extra XM stuff that should be free for 3 years.
