    I am have not noticed any tangible difference between the OEM AVID S33D and the new AVID Ascend in terms of mpg. I drove from Woodland to Monterey today at 70-75mph (66mph average displayed) and the display read 52mpg. Even after driving around the mad traffic in Monterey which included many short trips I am still at 51.x. Not too bad for not an ounce of hypermiling, high speeds, and driving in power mode.

    While these may not be the best choice for max mpg, they are not any worse than OEM it seems and they are better in almost every other respect.
