My PiP was in for its first (10,000 mile in UK) service last week. I use a dealership near my work, who kindly collect it for me.

I'm guessing this might have been the first they have serviced as the guy from the dealers sucked his teeth on seeing the car still plugged in following its charge and said, verbatim:

"I can't unplug that, I'm not technical" :ROFLMAO:

I'm guessing that's their valet service - who generally work for something much nearer than minimum wage than the hybrid tech's do. Having any of THEM work as a valet service would be an excruciating waste of labor cost.

Perhaps a little more than that - he also took payment from me later in the day.

Don't forget, the UK started their industrial revolution about 50 years before us…. we are still a bunch of "hicks in the sticks". Just kidding...

Luckily my Toyota dealership is about 10 minutes from my house. I always get a ride from my other 1/2.

Back during the late 1990's /early 2000 SUV craze, we owned a Range Rover. They'd pick you up for service and/or problems, then come and get you when your ride was ready. They also kept a large fresh hot supply of oatmeal raisen and chocolate chip cookies on hand ... as well as numerous flavors of foo foo coffees, herbal and regular teas. They REALLY made you want to be there ... all the time. And for the reliability of that thing ... it's a necessary strategy. ;)

:)The less time my vehicles and I spend at any dealer, the better.

My local UK dealer offers to collect the car from home or work, or a lift to work or home and pick me up after, or a free courtesy car, or if you want to wait for the car they will put two techs on it to speed things up and while you wait there are free hot or cold drinks in a proper cup (not plastic/paper) and free biscuits and/or cakes served to you by a member of staff. The trouble is I only get to use this facility once a year :coffee:

Do like I do, just stop by to say I am sure they will offer you some cakes and coffee! :p
