I'm going to assume this person that suggest the OP should be a vegan to drive a Prius has a bone with anyone environmentally friendly. This kind of "reasoning" is older than PC....if you drive a Prius you should look like this, do this....high school clicke mentality. Then some of these people try really hard to say a Prius is not green by focusing on just that car. By that same logic, whatever they say about the Prius, if you look past the trollbait, a F150 waste three times as much.

The way I look at it, those with gas guzzlers will have a bigger piece of the available oil pie.... at least that's how I've explained it to my family so far. I don't think that the Prius is a "green car." But it is a good step in the right direction. Certainly those of us who worry about such things are a very small and important slice of the population.

Your coworker does indeed have a point, but its on the top of his head. The meat we eat comes by truck and train from US growers. Allot of fruit and vegetables we eat come from other countries. Everything we take out of gasoline goes into bunker fuel to power ocean going freighters. Think about that the next time you grab a banana.

    Eat local cow, save gas.

Is it better if I go to WY/MT to pick up half a bison instead?

I have yet to see a Pic of a Bison in a Prius. Here are 96 cheesecakes, there is milk in a cheesecake so they are not vegan.

I have a truck for that kind of work. But it's only about 150 lbs of meat (for a half). Normally it's already frozen no need for ice, so a couple of good sized coolers do the trick. I'm sure you can make it work in a Prius if you take the time to find the right coolers, but a truck bed is just so much easier to work with.

EDIT: Just realized that picture is a V, I'm sure a V would handle a half bison without any issue provided you don't need the rear seats.

Breakfast is your largest meal. Go for it and then take a nap before walking.

Very few of us fit all the stereotypes, and a great many fit few or none. The Prius was going mainstream before I joined the crowd here, so you should find plenty of diversity.

One of the 'imitation mammals' my spouse tried, a vegan hotdog, was absolutely vile. It must have been part of an aversion reinforcement therapy, to drive potential strays back towards the fold.

Not that real hotdogs are much good either, especially when one knows what goes into them ...
