Your thoughts on the matte black vs. glossy black trims on LE/SE vs. higher trims, respectively

    I saw a white GM Volt last night next to my Gen 4 Prius Prime Limited. It had glossy black bumpers as well as some strange glossy black side bumpers on the side bottoms. Glossy black probably gave a more expensive look than matte black. Side bumpers were totally redundant though.

    With the glossy black bumpers on Gen 5, the silver piece on the front could look odd with some colors.

    If it was a gen1, the glossy bumpers were likely there to match the plastic bottom trim of the windows.

    Here is a 2003–2008 Corolla with a glossy black bumper I spotted yesterday.
