I had my 60K mile service done by the Toyota dealer in Santa Monica, CA. They did all of the stuff they were supposed to do. Labor was $229. Parts were $161. Plus tax. Total $409.00.

Some of the costs that I thought were a little high (but I haven't been to the auto store in awhile to compare):

    Cabin Air Filter: 26.00
    Coolant: $34.99
    Wiper Blade: $11.80
Wiper Blade: $13.56 (Not sure why they cost different. Maybe front and back? But then should be 3 wipers?)

They also did the recall stuff. I don't notice any difference.

I'm glad I looked at my invoice:

It says: REPL. TRANS/DIFFERENTIAL (4x4). But I don't see any charge for the fluid for that. What do you think?

It also says they replaced the fuel filter. But, they didn't charge me for the fuel filter. I'll have to see whether it was actually replaced (not that I actually know where the darn thing is located in my car).

Something that's a little funny: When I did the 40K mile service, they bugged my about doing the fuel injection cleaning. But haven't bugged me about it since then.

I'll get back on what they did or didn't do.

See the 2nd post in this thread and then this thread. I just got my Prius, so I have little idea yet what's needed at what interval. There are 2 categories that require different levels of service and it looks to me like they did everything suggested in both categories whether they were needed or not, or maybe they were needed. :)

The coolant you changed out is good for 100k miles. What other parts were replaced? The parts you listed comes out to about 90 bucks.

I hate dealers that can't get the paperwork correct. If the service isn't keyed in correctly, there is no way the tech would know what to do with the car. I would not be going back there, you don't even know what they did to your car.

The other costs were for the oil ($39.99), oil filter ($6.29), brake cleaner ($2.99 - not sure why), oil filter ($6.29), engine air filter ($24.00). and a couple of gaskets. I didn't think those costs too far out of hand.

Good to know I'm good on the coolant flush for 100K.

Something else, it says: CK VALVES (AUDIBLE INSP). So what did they do? Let the engine kick in, listen and say, "yup, valves work."

    Ridiculous.
I know you are not dumb Mike. Why did you let them take you for a ride ?

By the way, while many PriusChat folk change ATF around 50k miles, it is not Toyota recommended and I doubt it was performed by your stealership.

when you say, 'they did all the stuff they were supposed to do', do you mean what is listed in the maintenance manual? i'm thinking engine oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter, rotate tyres, inspect everything that never breaks.

There is a fuel filter. It's in the gas tank. The access panel is under the rear seat.

You're talking about the "intake screen," It is not a regular service item like a regular fuel filter cartridge.

I admit that I didn't research enough what the cost would/should be, so I went in ignorant. That's my fault. I thought the labor costs to be slightly high but I was bothered by the costs of some of the parts.

Plus the coolant flush. Also, there really was no reason to replace the windshield wipers for at least another year. One thing that I'll do later is get new tires. They are starting to get a little worn.

I was OK with a little more for all of the parts listed, especially the oil and coolant and all of the filters. But I wasn't ready for the amount they finally charged. Again, my fault to not finding out beforehand.

I'm a little confused on this because it looks like they replaced it but didn't charge me for it. I'll get clarification.

You show ,,,,, It says: REPL. TRANS/DIFFERENTIAL (4x4). But I don't see any charge for the fluid for that. What do you think?
I'm confused , 4x4 means 4wheel drive ,, sounds like your invoice got mixed up with a 4x4 Tundra

Interestingly ATF fluid change is recommended by the Toyota University training manual at 100,000 miles and 50,000 miles there after.

Run Seafoam or B-12 Chemtool every now and then and your fuel injectors will never have an issue.

    You got taken. :(
