    Hey All,

I just installed the EURO spec aspherical heated mirrors in both sides of the car. And it's nice to finally have a much wider view, I feel for safety it's just better to overlap turning my head and double checking, which I do a double take naturally on my motorcycle here in Los Angeles where people drive pretty aggressive.

Here is a picture along with the appropriate part numbers. Even though these were about $250 shipped from England for the pair, it's cheaper than $700/pair for my 09 M3 Sedan (now that is highway robbery).

Just wanted to give those who are in the US the information that you can get aspherical for both sides and they fit perfectly!

    Enjoy!

I don't think it is legal to have convex mirror on the driver side.

Only because they wanted to force drivers to turn their heads, but this doesn't appear to be working. If fact, they should have banned side view mirrors entirely if they actually wanted drivers to use their heads.

On the other hand, having the convex mirror isn't necessary if you adjust your drivers side mirror properly. Move your head next to the pillar and adjust it outward until you can no longer see the side of the car.

I see this not as a necessity. I always adjust my mirrors, but it's always nice to have a wider angle of view. But yea, it's best to make sure you adjust mirrors more outward on both sides, which many fail to do.

Can you tell us where you were able to get them from? Links or Phone numbers? It seems this might become a pretty popular thing to do around here... I know I'd be interested.

Time to bring a thread back from the dead! I'm working with a UK dealer now to find the part # pictured. It isn't easy! I need the LHS aspherical, heated model in original OEM/dealer form. I have heard that Prius in UK were without heated mirrors. Weirdly enough I can't find the #'s on Google or UK Ebay.

I still prefer the deep blue convex mirrors, and yes there heated.

    Not into the blues lol.

Are the euro spec mirrors only convex on the outer third of the mirror? I see a line/split.

    Yep, I believe so.

    BACK TO SQUARE ONE!:

    Dear flsnow,

    thanks,
I'm afraid that the UK / Europe equivalent is indeed non heated.

    Regards

Incorrect, my 2011 Prius has heated side mirrors! I live in the UK. It doesn't seem to tell you anywhere that they are heated but they are!

Wow, I could never go back to flat mirrors. Thankfully we follow the European rulings on mirror design.

Btw, they are convex the whole way through but the line delineates between the 2 varying levels of convex angles and it's heated here too. Whilst it doesn't snow here, the mirrors invariably fog up often when going into a tunnel on a rainy day.

Is your passenger side mirror flat? I may have to order through some other EU country that is left hand drive.

So are the glass in these goldish/bronze look or is that the lighting in the room reflecting in the glass? What are so different about these than what comes in the 2012 Prius model 5?

well.. I like digging up old threads. yes the mirror has a slight gold tint. I just ordered same models well only 1 is a Toyota the other is ALKAR 6471954 driver side. only the alkar came in so far but it's insane how wide a view it is. I moved it the far left to eliminate the side of the vehicle from the frame. But you can't do it! it's that wide of a view.
