Saw your blog post and thought - while the new Prius commercials are a bit on the trippy side, alternatives do exist.

And you can never be quite sure what will happen to your product once it's in the public forum, I was reminded of this "ad" from some fans of HBO show "Weeds" and Prius', who knows, Toyota could 'go gangsta' but I suspect they're going to stick with their "more traditional" model of advertising.

BTW, Did you see the post about interest re carbon fiber lookalike applique for the top of the '10 spoiler? Might be a good seller.

Last trip to Pepboys, looked closely at the selection of pinstripe - saw black 1/16th-space-1/16th. Installed it the same day 1/8" below the side creases. It turned out beautiful. Just enough of a contrast but not in-your-face. Dealer - excellent. They did screw up my only port option - the applique. They put on the black plastic bumper guard. Off it came at delivery. They ordered the applique. Arranged to send it to my local dealer for install at their cost. I went there a few days ago. When done, they called me over. Wrong applique. This was clear plastic but almost the with of the car and white dashes all over it - looked horrible. So they will contact my selling dealer and order the RIGHT applique - I showed them the item online. Their pinstripe installer wil put it on when it comes in - 3rd time the charm I hope. LOVE the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waiting for my all weather mats (from you...) and the windshield screen (shipped and awaiting).

Picked up my red V Saturday and love it - first time Prius-guy.

I see you got the pinstripe on yours and mentioned you like it. I was at Pep Boys yesterday and picked up a roll of double pinstripe tape in a buff color to accent the red. I put a test piece on from the rear front fender to the headlight - At first wondered if it may be 'too much'. But actually I think the tape color was a bit too light. So I'm probably going to get a bronze or such which may not stand out so much. Would plan to tape the same area on the side as yours appears to be. I think it breaks up the "slab side" effect and accents the flare of the side panel nicely.
That said - do you still like yours?

FYI, that nutty problem I had re the inability to format or attach to a posting - is a memory. So quirky, but all has been fine.
I've been in the forum for over 2 months now and can't thank you guys enough. What a tremendous resource - and also benefits Toyota and no doubt Prius sales.
One matter that has been building in irritation - the off Topic yada-ing. Checking into very interesting and perhaps important Topics - new postings come in...and wildly off topic...continuing on for 10s of posts. I know it's human nature and super tough to control but I sense quite a few folks are getting irritated too. Not a huge deal, but just wanted to mention it...

I am very sad to hear about Brian. I just heard about it today 5/20. I didn't have a chance to get to know him very well since we just got our prius a few weeks ago.

I don't mean to sound rude, but do you know what will happen to the strut bar I ordered from him through this site? I ordered on 5/11 (#9717).

Mysteriously - the problem corrected itself??? I had it for about two days and it went away --- back to normal. I did nothing here...thought you may have done something. But - all is OK - weird. Thanks (anyway) and thanks for all your work - past and present. Can't wait for my '10 Prius!!!

Hi Danny, First - thanks much for your efforts, past and present , for PC. What a wonderful resource. Second - Op question. I've posted over 100 times since joining about a month ago. Beginning yesterday, if I post/reply - or try to create new thread - I cannot edit the text. ie bold, font size, etc. The edit options above the entry box have no effect, and clicking for attach...nothing. And after entering, in the draft, there are no paragraphs, just a string of sentences. This just started yesterday, and I have rebooted, reloaded PC etc - to no avail. I have not posted nor replied to posts due to this....(no great loss to the Forum to be sure). Can you provide some tech support??? Whoa - thought I'd "Go Advanced" to test here as well. Same issue on messages too.... Also, just checked to see if I can access the smiley panel and attach here...nope.... And, I see on the Preview - the quote marks come out as text; example a few sentences back from here. Thanks, Dean

Do you know of relationship between the Dice unit and dead Prius computer screens? Last month, the computer screen died on my 2005 3.3 yr Prius with 14,800 mi. Same thing happened to my son's 2004 Prius with an MP3 hookup 2 yrs ago. His screen replaced & all is fine.

Toyota installed new screen on mine, which didn't work. They replaced my old screen. Radio now ignores iPod mode. Now I know why they put controls on the steering column—the only way to control anything with no screen. Toyota wants to do more diagnostics before going further. They think the iPod is the cause. If they do replace it, they want to do it without connecting the Dice unit. They think my son's will die again, too.

It would be helpful to know if you have info about potential Prius - Dice problems. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for me in dealing with Toyota?

Danny, in the user setup where you can select what car you drive it would be nice to have a "Prius on order" choice. I don't have one yet so I don't want to "lie" but also don't want people to think - not really a Prius person just lurking. I am an on order guy.
