2010 Prius No Power until car is on...

    Hey guys,

    Im looking for some help. So my Prius is acting like is has a dead battery but when i go to start my car it starts right up. My keyless entry wont work at all, i cant unlock or lock the car from the inside and i cant use the push to start unless the key fob is on the button itself bypassing the key fob detection. Also once i start the car it doesn't retain any information like my trip meter, tank range, or time but it keeps my radio stations saved. could it be a fuse?

    Try changing the key fob battery and see if it helps?

    The key fob battery and the car battery are brand new

    Does the red light on the fob light up?

    Are the leads for the battery tight on the new battery?

    If you think it is a fuse, you could check under the hood and while there, check the voltage of the 12v battery;).

    Yes the red light lights up on the key fob.

    Just to make sure I removed them cleaned them and reinstalled them and assured they were tight.

    the voltage is correct, and currently testing fuses under the hood and inside.

    What voltage are you measuring on the 12v?

    The battery leads are tight on the 12v? This includes the body ground?

    I had a key fob issue issue with my 2010. The only thing that seems to be different is that the OP cannot lock or unlock the car from the inside (unless the OP meant outside.) I never did find a cause, and sold the car in August 2017.
